The "Upside Down" Approach

I like to play Dollar slots, but when I have to start with a small bankroll and don't want to run out of money too soon, I use what I call the upside down method.
Instead of playing dollars at the beginning and ending up at quarters or even nickels, if things don't go as hoped for, I start playing nickels and, if I'm winning, I gradually move up. First I switch to quarters and then maybe to dollars. This approach doesn't always work, but at times I have managed to transform a $50 starting bankroll into a win of several hundred dollars. This way of playing keeps me at the slots longer and I don't worry so much about a bankroll dwindling too fast.
